Our journey started as a company focused on creating products for those in the wine and restaurant industry to have better tools. Over time that focus shifted from creating tools to sourcing better products. A coffee centric company came to the forefront as a way to address inequality and give back to a community that is often over looked.
Puerto Rican coffee is not common in the coffee market today and we want to change that. Coffee production on the island dates back to the early 1700s and there is a rich tradition of coffee. Although most consumers know its large scale brands there are many small farmers and producers on the island. We are using our connections to find these farmers and bring their coffee to the market by allowing them to focus on growing the coffee and letting us roast, market, and sell the coffee.
At the start we are supporting these growers by purchasing their green coffee at a fair market price. As we grow our offerings and our scale we will look for ways to help farmers improve their fincas.
As always we continue to be a Sommelier owned and managed company as our founder is a Certified Sommelier, and has worked in the food and beverage industry for 15+ years.
